Social events

There are a number of opportunities to meet up with carers, folk with MS etc. which prove both enjoyable and useful to those attending the events.  Check the Travel tab if you need help with transport.

Berkshire MS Therapy Centre - from knitting groups to skydiving, check out the events run by the centre in Reading.  

Bluebells walks - over two Springtime wekends, the MS Society arranges bluebells walks arounf Rushall Farm in Reading.  Sign up for the MS newsletter for details of future events.

Bracknell - Coffee mornings every 2nd and 4th Wednesday in the month 10.30 to 12/12.30 (depending how many turn up!) at  South Hill Park, Bracknell.    Casual and friendly, all are welcome.  Contact James McDougall 07525 178987.

Christmas event - the MSquared team arrange a festive meal in December at a local eatery, the local MS Society branch as kindly funded the meal for those with MS who attend.  Sign up for the MS newsletter for details of future events.

Drop-in Centre - Weekly drop-in gatherings are held at the Crescent Centre, Warbler Drive Lower Earley, RG6 4HB. Wednesdays 10:30-1:30, contact Janet Turner 0118 941 2315 for details.

East Berkshire MS Coffee Morning group 10.00-11.30 in the Windsor Farm Shop on the first Tuesday of the month.

East Berkshire MS Society branch has a Pilates and Exercise class at Wellington College in Crowthorne. The sessions are led by a qualified physiotherapist, Cathy White. These sessions are free to East Berkshire MS Society members, contact Cathy on 07904 494 278 for more information.

Henley MS support group lunches - Organised by Maddie who says between 6-12 meet up at Menza, an accessible venue in Henley-on-Thames.  They are on the third Wednesday of every month.  Please email Maddie direct for more information: madeline@starames.co.uk

MUSC  (MUltiple SClerosis) - social gatherings for those living with neurological conditions, like MS, to support general wellbeing.

Oddfellows are “a friendly society and mutual – it's what we do”. From fun social get-togethers and trusted support and advice when members might need it, to exclusive offers and opportunities to travel – the benefits  are shaped by the very people who enjoy them. Peer Pods - Online socialising and support are offered through the Peer Pods organised by MS-UK.  There really is one for everyone - well, more than one in some cases. The MS-UK Peer Support Service has been developed to create an online community for people living with MS to connect with others that share a common interest, in a positive and supportive space.  Current Peer Pods are as follows and are open to all ages.  You sign up and agree to terms and then you can participate.  Neil Dawkins, Chair of the Board of Trustees at the MS Therapy Centre hosts one of them - I’ll let you discover which one!  Give them a go.

South West Bucks - Informal social meeting on the third Tuesday of every month 10 to midday at Wrights Meadow community centre, High Wycombe.  Open to anyone with MS, their families and carers.  Email southwestbucks@mssociety.org.uk or call 07584 035 357.
